19th Annual Fall Fly-In a Success

Our 19th Annual Fall fly-in was a successful one. A blowing nor'easter with rain late in the week followed by fog Saturday morning couldn't stop us. A small group came out early on Tuesday, before the rain, to clean up the field. Harold Flanagan's crew cut the field and parking areas right on time too. Many thanks to everybody for their hard work getting ready, cooking, serving, flying, presenting, welcoming... The list goes on. Thanks also to member Kendal Moore for bringing young CAP members to help with parking.

Our Next Meeting

The January Chapter 960 meeting will be held at Flanagan Field on Tuesday the 6th at 6:30 PM. There will be a meal followed by a business meeting and program. As always, visitors are welcomed so please come join us.

New T-Shirt Design

Check out our new new t-shirt design. The new shirts were introduced at the `07 spring fly-in. See one of your chapter officers to get yours now. Hats are now available too.

Chapter Members Soar

A group of our EAA Chapter members have formed a new soaring club called East Carolina Soaring. Most good weather weekends they can be found having fun flying gliders at Flanagan Field. Read all about them at their new WEB site (www.eastcarolinasoaring.org).

Everybody is welcomed to come out and watch, help as ground crew or take a ride with the glider instructor. If you take that ride you will likely be hooked and join the club. Once a member, you can start working on that glider rating.

To the left you can see David Manning in the Schleicher Ka7 on short final with spoilers deployed.

Who We Are

EAA chapter 960, based at Flanagan Field (N08) in Farmville, North Carolina, is a local chapter of the national Experimental Aircraft Association. Members of the local chapter, and the national organization as a whole, are joined by one common bond, they all love aviation and airplanes. Our goal as a local chapter is to provide a means of getting people with a common interest together on at least a monthly basis to promote the camaraderie that people in aviation enjoy. We welcome visitors at any of our monthly meetings and are delighted when these visitors become members. Visitors do not have to be pilots or even own an airplane. All they have to do is enjoy aviation.

Use the links above to navigate our web site and see what our organization is all about. There's information about our monthly meetings, details on our annual Fly-In, and information about the exciting Young Eagles program.

We look forward to meeting you at one of our future meetings.
